My research focuses on the ecological aspects of the climate change mitigation and adaptation in agricultural and forest ecosystems. I am interested in understanding the role of agroforestry, organic farming and bioenrgy crop production in climate change management with special foci on soil carbon sequestration and plant nutrition. Apart from Southeastern US, I have active research collaborations in Germany, Central America, and India.

My research interests include plant conservation and biology as well as wildlife education and ecology. My thesis project involves studying the effects of water regimes and herbicide treatment on growth, reproduction and survival of endangered legume Hairy Rattleweed (Baptisia arachnifera). This species is endemic two only two counties (Wayne & Brantley) of Georgia. I am also a Teaching Assistant at the Biology Department. In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding and hiking.

I am interested to study the environmental impacts of bioenergy crop production. My thesis topic is 'Carbon Sequestration and Biomass Production Potentials for Switchgrass-Pine Agroforestry Systems in Southeastern Coastal Plain'. I am also interested production techniques of biochar. Under Dr. Saha's supervision, I am developing a biochar pyrolysis instrument, that will enable us generate biochars from common crop residues & waste products.
